Since 2008 to the present, Pastor Orville G. Wright currently serves the Grafton and Taylor County area as Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Grafton.


He has served the citizens of Taylor County since January, 1977, beginning his tenure as a Teacher and Coach at the WV Industrial School for Boys, that was then located in Pruntytown.


In August 1978, he began serving as a public school Teacher and Coach at GHS. His coaching tenure includes: assistant football, basketball, track and head wrestling. He was awarded “Taylor County Teacher of the Year” (1994-1995), “Mountain Statesman Invitational Wrestling Tournament Outstanding Coach” (1984-1985), “AA Region II Wrestling Coach of the Year” (1985), and named an assistant coach of the North-South All Star Football Game (1985).


During his tenure at GHS he co-sponsored the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, served as Departmental Chair, Dean of Students and retired as Principal of Grafton High School in 2007.


Most recently Pastor Wright was also elected to the Taylor County Commission in November 2014 and began his 6 year term on January 1, 2015.
